I’m originally from Northfield, MN and lived most of my adult life in the Twin Cities before returning to my wife’s hometown of Bemidji. I have been working with commercial insurance accounts since 1995 when I received my degree in Risk Management & Insurance from St. Cloud State University. My professional experience includes working for a large insurance agency in the Twin Cities where I gained extensive knowledge in creative employee benefit design and different risk management approaches for my commercial clients. In 2010 I received an Insurance Professional Five Star Award for Overall Satisfaction as seen in Mpls/St. Paul Magazine & Twin Cities Business. I also owned my own insurance agency for eight years before returning to the team environment and joining Insure Forward in 2018.
Companies that make the decision to work with me will find a fresh approach to reviewing their insurance options. I evaluate client benefit programs regularly to make sure they are offering attractive, financially viable insurance options to help them attract and retain quality employees. On the property/casualty side of things I use a risk assessment approach with my clients to make sure we have addressed their exposures and then decide the best approach to address those exposures with insurance being an option, but not the only option. I find great satisfaction in helping my clients better understand the frustrating world of insurance and showing them alternative ways of addressing their coverage needs.
Away from work I spend time getting involved in the Bemidji community through various civic organizations and spending time at the rink coaching youth hockey. Our family spends time together helping at our family restaurant and raising our herd of alpacas while getting away on a family motorcycle trip is an extra treat.
I look forward to the opportunity of getting to know your business and providing a different perspective on your insurance options while helping you move your businesses forward.
